Sometimes you just need a spot to post up for a bit while out and about - I've visited enough coffee shops in the various neighborhoods in Pittsburgh that I can recommend a few!
Map
This is my favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh. It's right along Walnut in Shadyside, and Caesar and Wally are super personable when I'm just not operating at 100% in the morning. Definitely order from their constantly-evolving list of specials
Jitters Cafe
No frills coffee shop in East Liberty with immaculate vibes. All about sustainability. Just don't go there expecting the wifi to be able to handle video Zoom calls.
Sidenote: if you're a Wingspan board game fan, you'll love this coffee shop.
Redstart Roasters
Just discovered this spot in Dormont - their Mayan Mocha might be the best spicy mocha I've ever had
Potomac Station Coffeehouse
Good vibes in a very happening part of the Strip District, but just be warned that their wifi isn't the best. If you need wifi, go across the street and work from Aslin Brewing.
De Fer Coffee & Tea
Really great vibes along Brookline Blvd and a nice area out back if you need to get some work done. Good spot to post up and read. If you're a cold brew person, they'll water it down if you don't ask to cut down on the bitterness - you can ask them n...
802 Bean Company
I've stopped in here more for a quick snack while in Squirrel Hill than to actually get some work done. It's always packed inside and outside.
61C Cafe
They have good cold brew and some fun custom creations. This is the best spot to post up in Shadyside if you're not over by Walnut St.
Arriviste Coffee Roasters — Shadyside
I've actually never been here during the day - but they have trivia on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month, and the cocktails they break out are pretty good! It's along the main drag in Mt. Lebanon.
Orbis Caffe
YINZ is a relatively new Pittsburgh-themed chain. This spot is great if you need to meet someone in Station Square. Recommend their Nitro Cold Brew and trying one of their many flavors of popcorn!
YINZ Coffee (Station Square)
The YINZ North Side location is larger inside than Station Square, and parking around it is pretty easy (cheap to pay for street parking on this block, or free 1- and 2-hour parking in permitted zones a couple blocks away). Super convenient spot to p...
