Seattle

In addition to dedicated board game cafes, there are a lot of bars where people will bring their own games in Seattle. I've included a mix of formal cafes and bars where people often game.

A smaller cafe with a small parking lot. They don't have a ton of games, so may need to bring your own. They do have 2 smaller rooms that can be reserved which is great for meet ups and larger social deduction games which are often hard to play in ca...

Just a regular bar, but many board game meetups happen here. If you have games to bring and a group, this bar is great for the vibe.
Stoup Brewing

Philadelphia

Philadelphia has a few cafes downtown that are fun for gaming. Both have full kitchens in addition to board games meaning you can stay for hours!

More of a restaurant with a small selection of games. The food is nice, so if you just want to play more mainstream games, this is a great place.

The best board game cafe in Philadelphia. The staff is so knowledgeable and can recommend games and even teach you how to play them! Plus the food is pretty decent. They have a ton of games.

Boston

Boston doesn't have a ton of traditional board game cafes unfortunately. Knight moves used to have a second location but it has closed.

A great bar with some light games available like jenga, connect four, etc. You can bring your own games as there are a lot of tables to play at. They host fun events as well, though mostly not board game specific.

More of a table top (magic, DnD, etc) type place.
Tavern of Tales

Minneapolis

Several big game developers are actually based in Minneapolis (or just outside the city).

Technically in the suburbs but this is the biggest board game shop I have ever seen. They have a ton of space for seating with a few types of tables. They have a lot of games for sale but not that many games to play. Also the food is limited. If you ...

More tabletop games than traditional board games but people highly recommend it!
Lodestone Games

San Francisco Bay Area

There are board game shops all over the Bay Area! Here are a few of my favorites that I've been to.

They have a pretty large game selection and two rooms to play in. They also host leagues and events which is really cool! They only sell a few snacks but there are plently of places to get food in the area.
Dogpatch Games

More a store than a cafe but they sell lots of games! They also have some events in their downstairs/back area for certain games.
Gamescape North

Lots of medium sized tables for playing games. A mix of board games and table top gamers. People tend to bring their own games and food.
