All food can be categorized into one of three buckets: soup, salad, or sandwich. This great debate was started of by is a hotdog a sandwich (obviously yes). It's evolved from there - you may not like it but there is a lot of evidence!

Soup
It counts as soup.
Served in a bowl, eaten with a spoon. It's soup.
Cereal
It's liquid, it's a soup.
Smoothie
This is the easiest one. It's definitely soup. It's in the name!
Soup
It's basically a frozen soup! When it melts, it's clearly a liquid that you eat with a spoon.
Ice Cream

Salad
No liquid, no container? It's a salad. Deal with it.
There's no bread or container. It's not a liquid. Therefore it's a salad!
Mashed Potatoes
Again served without bread or something that holds it. Definitely not a liquid, so it must be a salad!
Rice
It's vegetables in sauce. That's a salad!
Stir Fry
This is the hottest take. But it's basically a bunch of salad ingredients cooked together (cheese, veggies, breadcrumbs)! Plus it's clearly not a soup or sandwich.
Pizza
A classic salad.
Caesar Salad
Sandwich
Something holds it together. It's a sandwich.
A hotdog in a bun, obviously a sandwich. (If the hotdog was by itself it would be a salad though).
Hot Dog
It comes contained, it has meat, veggies, sauces, etc. It can be held by hand, it's a sandwich!
Sushi
It's got “bread” on the outside and a filling (that can be many different types) on the inside. It can be picked up and held by hand. It's a sandwich.
Poptart
No one is going to debate this one. Obviously a type of sandwich.
Hoagie
Look at the sandwich goodness! I mean it's clear not a soup or salad.
Calzone
“Bread” type substance on three sides, and picked up with your hand. Plus it can have many different fillings, that's a sandwich.
