For tubs, sinks, or showers - Never use just grout around edges or seams/corners. Be sure to always sure grout caulk! Thats important in regards to waterproofing!

This is great to remove a lot of the grease and oils from the cabinets before you sand them down!

After the 80 grit sanding, Use 320 grit for a really nice smooth finish.
Afruxy Drywall Sanding Sponge Pack of 4 - 320 grit
After the degreaser, you'll use 80 grit to carefully rough up the cabinets a bit. Especially if there is an oak grain that you want to get rid of. You could go as far as filling those in with joint compound if you wanted to go that far!

The sure way to make sure all dust is off is with Denatured Alcohol. Fumes are tough so make sure you have airflow and a mask on! If not, the tack cloth is the way to go!
