What are hand paddles used for in swimming? They are used for resistance training for your strokes. They help to build up muscle so that when you take them off you are able to pull harder. They are also amazing at fixing stroke techniques. If you are doing something wrong you will feel it slow you down.

The most traditional hand paddles. Made from plastic, and has straps. Some are still made more comfortably however. Good for resistance.
Exotic hand paddles
This is where the wacky stuff is. Paddles aremade from silicone, fabric, and latex. Some are very loosely called paddles. Id give each of these a look even if you don't want anything, they are just so interesting.
