To kick off our holiday season here in Lake Charles, right before Thanskgiving every year, the Junior Women's league hosts the Mistletoe and Moss event. Here, you can sip your favorite beverage and show local vendors who have clothing and jewelry boutiques, and those who have handmade items or unique items not found in your big box stores. Tickets can be purchased online before Nov. 17th for a discounted amount, or can be purchased at the door. Grab your girlfriends, and enjoy the experience.
Mistletoe & Moss
Just over the bridge from us in Sulphur, they have Christmas Under the Oaks. This annual even is actually a fundraiser for the Henning Cultural Center and Brimstone Museum complex. This event features entertainment, along with booths from craftors and vendors where you can continue your holiday shopping for that unique item.

The thing about SW Louisiana, or anywhere in Louisiana for that matter, you can always find sometype of festival or event happening.
If you're a train lover, the holiday train by CPKC is definitely something fun for you and your whole family. This year, the train will actually be stopping in three different towns along it's trip through our area, in Leesville, DeRidder, and DeQuincy.

This annual festival in DeRidder has activities for all ages to enjoy, from shopping at vendor booths, to games, to a lighted Christmas parade that evening.
Miracle On Washington Street Christmas Festival
The one thing I can say about our community here in SW Louisiana, is we are proud of our heritage here, and have many events to keep our history alive. This event is another example of just that. This is an all day event that include an Ugly Christmas sweater contest and also ends the day with a lighted Christmas parade.

Having lots of small towns and farm country around makes this a great place to build family-style attractions where all ages can enjoy their day, from finding their way through mazes, to petting animals, playing games, and picking out their Christmas... These are definitely musts to experience.
CM Farms is a fun place to spend a Saturday going through their corn maze, playing different games and activities, and checking out their farm animals. During the holiday season, the surrounding schools in our areas take their annual field trips here to experience everything they have to offer.

Grant Christmas Tree Farm is another attraction that is perfect for the whole family or for school field trips. A lot of families have it made their tradition to go enjoy the day and pick out their Christmas tree. Between the mazes, ziplining, and farm animals, you will definitely find something to keep you and your children entertained.

Painting with a twist offers sessions for all ages. During the day, there are sessions for your and your children to enjoy a day of painting. Each session has a themed picture they will guide you through to create your own masterpiece. However, if you and your girlfriends are looking for some fun holiday cheer, this is the place. Just check before hand if the event is BYOB, or if its supplied. While they do have Christmas themed paints, this is actually a year-round activity.

This older hotel has all the charm, especially at Christmas time. The gathering room is on the second floor. Our company has had several of our annual Christmas parties here.
