Living in Texas, the closest beach with pretty water is South Padre Island! Water you can see (a MUST for me 😂) and fun things to do! Great places to eat make it even better! Fireworks show every week right off the beach too!
We have stayed here a few times and have had great experiences every time. Hotel is very clean, friendly staff and amazing pool! Restaurants on site make traveling with family even easier. Sits right on the beach, too!

Took my kids on this fun pirate ship! They cruise along in the Laguna Madre (a site to see in itself) and do a pirate skit for the kids! Kids were given a play sword and had to fight off bad pirates, it was a lot of fun. We even saw a pod of dolphins...
